The Universities of Wisconsin serve more than 162,500 students. These 13 public universities are Wisconsin’s talent pipeline, putting graduates in a position to increase their earning power, contribute to their communities, and make Wisconsin a better place to live.
The universities provide a 23:1 return on state investment. The Universities of Wisconsin also contribute to the richness of Wisconsin’s culture and economy with groundbreaking research, new companies and patents, and boundless creative intellectual energy.
The Board of Regents has approved the UW budget request for the 2025-2027 biennium. President Rothman will discuss the budget request and its importance for the people of Wisconsin.
About the Speaker: Jay Rothman previously served as the chairman and CEO of the law firm Foley & Lardner LLP. Founded in Wisconsin in 1842, Foley has over 1,100 lawyers and approximately 1,000 professional staff members. Rothman was chairman and CEO of Foley & Lardner for 11 years and a member of the firm’s Management Committee for 20 years. He joined Foley in 1986 and became a partner in 1994.
