Eve was recently elected president of the Madison Public Library board, and currently serves on the board of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation, the sponsor of the Wisconsin Civics Games of which she is the founder, as well as the boards of PBS Wisconsin (formerly Wisconsin Public Television), The Capital Times Kids Fund, the TEMPO Madison Foundation, and the Monroe Street Arts Center. Eve also hosts the television program “Districts Reports” on the Madison City Channel.
Eve was Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, was elected to four terms on the Madison City Council, served as director of U.S. Senator Herb Kohl’s Madison Regional Office, and for more than a decade provided event planning, public relations, fundraising, and government relations services as a consultant to corporate and nonprofit clients including MG&E, Meriter Hospital, CUNA Mutual Insurance, American Diabetes Association, International Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and the Chazen Museum of Art.
She is past chair of the Madison Civics Club and the Wisconsin Women’s Network where she successfully launched the Wisconsin Women’s Policy Institute, which trains women leaders to be effective public policy advocates. Eve is also past president of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hillel Foundation, YWCA of Madison Foundation, Wisconsin Women in Government and TEMPO Madison.
Eve was honored with the YWCA Women of Distinction Award, Community Shares of Wisconsin Backyard Hero Award, and the Omega School Leadership Award, was in the inaugural group of Brava Magazine’s “Women to Watch,” and the only woman featured in InBusiness Magazine’s “Seven over Seventy.”
Eve Galanter is a graduate of the University of Chicago and has been a teacher of emotionally disturbed children, a freelance writer, and a television news reporter on consumer affairs.
