Speaker: Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, MA, is the UW Health Vice President for Social Impact and Belonging and University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) Associate Dean for Social Impact and Belonging.

In a world often defined by divisiveness and misinformation, continuing to do impactful work that focus on social impact and belonging is challenging but more necessary than ever. With over 25 years of experience focused on system change and social impact, Shiva will share her perspective on the current environment and our path forward.

Speaker: Shiva Bidar-Sielaff, MA, is the UW Health Vice President for Social Impact and Belonging and University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) Associate Dean for Social Impact and Belonging. She is responsible for overall vision, coordination and strategic initiatives related to social impact and belonging including partnerships with community organizations to better connect and serve our communities.

Shiva is an established leader and effective champion for social impact and belonging at the individual, organizational, and community levels. She has served as an alder on the City of Madison Common Council, including two terms as council president; co-chairs the Latino Health Council of Dane County; is Madison College’s current board chair and a member of the Access Community Health Centers board. She has also served on the Governor’s Health Equity Council and as a member of the Madison Community Foundation Board. Her many accolades include receiving the 2010 Madison/Dane County MLK Humanitarian Award; the 2016 ATHENA Leadership Award; and the 2018 Centro Hispano Visionary Award.
