Lotfi Legal, LLC - Immigration Law Services

Join us for an eye-opening conversation with Attorney Shabnam Lotfi who shares her real-world experiences representing immigrants across the country. Through compelling stories from the frontlines of immigration law, Shabnam sheds light on the human impact of legal policies, the challenges facing immigrant communities, and the resilience needed to push for the rule of law to be followed in the U.S.

This session aims to raise awareness, foster empathy, and empower attendees with practical ways they can support immigrants in their communities. Whether you're new to the topic or deeply engaged, this session offers both insight and inspiration from a trusted legal advocate.

About Shabnam Lotfi: Shabnam Lotfi is an attorney and Founder of Lotfi Legal LLC, an immigration law firm based in Madison. Shabnam earned her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2011. She launched her firm in 2014 to help individuals and families navigate complex legal pathways for U.S. immigration with a human-centered approach. Her practice areas include litigation, family-based and employment-based immigration, deportation defense, visas, waivers, and naturalization.

Shabnam has led high-impact litigation, including filing the class-action suit Emami v. Nielsen, which challenged the Trump-era travel-ban waiver process, securing relief for tens of thousands of visa applicants worldwide. Most recently, she was one of the first attorneys nationwide to secure a Preliminary Injunction against the Trump Administration for unlawfully terminating a UW-Madison international student’s visa status.

Recognized as a 2022 Super Lawyers Rising Star and an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, she also serves her community as a trustee for the Village of Shorewood Hills.
