Leadership Series: The Intelligence That Changes Everything (April 22, 2026)

Wednesday, April 22, 2026 | 8:00 am - 9:30 am

The Intelligence That Changes Everything
How Emotionally Skilled Leaders Shape Culture, Influence Power,
and Elevate Performance

Speaker: Deborah Biddle, Founder, The People Company Consulting Group

Emotional intelligence is no longer a soft skill. It is the leadership advantage — the force that shapes trust, sharpens decision-making, fuels high-performing teams, and determines whether a leader amplifies or erodes culture.

In this provocative and energizing keynote, Deborah Biddle reframes emotional intelligence as the center of modern leadership power. She moves beyond theory and into the moments that make or break influence: conflict, tension, change, decision-making, and the everyday interactions where leaders leave a mark.

TEMPO Madison leaders don’t just manage culture — they shape it. This keynote shows them how to lead with deeper self-awareness, sharper emotional control, and a presence that elevates every room they walk into.

Participants will learn to:

Recognize the hidden emotional habits that shape trust and credibility.

Regulate emotions under pressure to strengthen clarity, confidence, and composure.

Communicate with greater influence in moments of conflict, feedback, or uncertainty.

Build stronger relational intelligence that deepens engagement and accelerates alignment.

Lead with a presence that inspires steadiness, trust, and results.

About Our Speaker: Deborah Biddle is an exceptional keynote speaker, TEDx presenter, executive coach, and leadership strategist who helps organizations create cultures where both people and performance thrive. As the founder of The People Company Consulting Group, Deborah empowers leaders to think more clearly, lead with intention, and align their actions with the values they represent.

With an MBA, a background in finance, and experience in the corporate, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial sectors, Deborah brings a unique combination of strategic insight, emotional intelligence, and cultural fluency to every engagement.

Deborah's keynotes and workshops are more than presentations—they’re catalytic experiences. With powerful storytelling and practical insights, she delivers a high-impact blend of relevance and urgency. Grounded in real-world leadership challenges, her sessions spark deep reflection and equip leaders with tools they can apply the very next day. Whether guiding an executive retreat or commanding a main stage, Deborah leaves audiences with sharper clarity, actionable strategies, and the courage to lead with conviction in even the most complex environments.

Behind the doors at Madison College: Students, Spaces, Leadership and Community

Speaker: Dr. Jennifer Berne, President, Madison College

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 | 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
The Madison Club, Madison

This presentation will introduce the audience to what they likely don’t know about Madison College: Its programs, its commitments, and its essential role in the community. Woven through will be my own learning about female-centric leadership, especially focused on how female leaders can support and encourage those coming up in their professions.

Finally, Dr. Berne hope to engage the audience members in a unified understanding of how our collective action in support of woman and families can make a significant difference in disrupting generational poverty and creating the possibility for social mobility in our communities.

About our Speaker: Dr. Jennifer Berne serves as the ninth President of Madison College, a role she began in July of 2025. Dr. Berne has held tenured faculty teaching and research positions at 2 and 4 year institutions in both Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Colleges of Education. Her research centers on the ways in which teachers’ own literacy experiences effect their work with students, and these insights have underpinned the ideas contained in her 5 books on literacy education.

After leaving the classroom, she worked as a senior administrator at community colleges in 4 different states. She is an Aspen Presidential Fellow and holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University, an MA from Northeastern University and an MBA and BA from the University of Michigan.
