Spring bird migration is underway. Many of the early birds will soon be arriving in Wisconsin. And of course, certain species stayed with us all winter. How did they fare? How healthy are our bird populations? Which birds are threatened or endangered and why? What birds are doing extremely well? What can we do to help our feathered friends? Our speaker has worPked on the Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative for the Department of Natural Resources and is a self-described “Bird Geek”. Yoyi Steele will tell us what is happening with birds in Wisconsin and why everyone, not just birdwatchers, should care.
Yoyi is an avian conservation biologist by training. She is the former coordinator of the Wisconsin Important Bird Areas program and previously staffed the Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative.
